On the instructions of the Supreme Court, it has been made mandatory in Chhattisgarh to install High Security Registration Mark (HSRP) within 120 days on all categories of vehicles registered before April 2019. In this regard, the Transport Department has authorized two vendors, M/s Real Mazon India Limited and Rosmarta Safety System Limited respectively, to install HSRP marks at the prescribed rate.

RTO offices divided into two zones

All RTO offices have been divided into Zone-A and Zone-B by the Transport Department. The responsibility of installing HSRP symbol in vehicles registered before April 2019 in the RTO offices included under Zone-A has been given to M/s Real Mazon India Limited. Zone-A includes Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi, Bijapur, Sukma, Narayanpur, Balrampur, Surajpur, Kondagaon, Mungeli, Bemetara, Kawardha, Kairaba, Janjgir-Champa, Bilaspur and Raipur RTO offices.

Similarly, under Zone-B, the responsibility of installing HSRP symbol on vehicles registered in RTO offices Raigarh, Gariaband, Jashpur, Dhamtari, Balodabazar, Mahasamund, Rajnandgaon, Balod, Durg, Dantewada, Kanker, Ambikapur, Baikunthpur, Jadalpur is given to M/s Rosmerta Safety System Limited. Has been handed over to. Both the above companies will install high security registration plates at the prescribed rate.

HSRP will be charged like this

Apart from two-wheeler motor cycle, scooter, moped, it will cost Rs 365.80 including GST for installing high security registration plate on tractor, power tiller and trailer, Rs 427.16 for 3-wheeler, Rs 656.08 for light motor vehicle/passenger car and Rs 705.64. The rate of Rs has been fixed. All payments will be made through digital mode only.

Automobile dealers will install High Security Registration Mark (including the required third registration plate) on motor vehicles registered before 01 April 2019 in the state of Chhattisgarh with an additional charge of Rs 100/- for each installation. Additional amount will have to be paid for home delivery service.

…otherwise a fine will be imposed

If instructions issued for high security registration mark are not followed, fine will be imposed as per Central Motor Vehicles Act and rules. To avoid the penalty given under the provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act 1988, under Rule 50 of the Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989, on the road equipped with fake high security registration marks lookalike plates/smart number plates like hologram/India Mark/India inscription etc. It will be mandatory to replace the high security registration mark plates on running vehicles. Legal action will be taken against dealers or other persons found selling and supplying High Security Registration Mark unauthorizedly.
