CTRL: Ananya Pandey will soon be seen in Vikramaditya Motwane's Netflix film CTRL. As soon as the trailer of this cyber-thriller was released, some viewers felt that it had a connection with the 2004 film Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, which starred Kate Winslet and Jim Carrey. Now the director himself has broken his silence on this question and has answered. Vikramaditya Motwane told News18 that he knew that such questions would be raised.

Vikramaditya said, as soon as we wrote the film, we knew that people would ask us questions about Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. But we have no problem with it. There is a little bit of fun in it too. Let us tell you that Her (2013) was a romantic science fiction film, in which Joaquin Phoenix and Scarlett Johansson played the lead roles.

The inspiration is definitely there, but the story is different.

Vikramaditya Motwane also admitted that Michel Gondry's directorial film Eternal Sunshine has definitely been an inspiration for him, but both the films are quite different. He said, that film is amazing. There is something in it that makes his story special. His direction and acting are excellent. This is one of the biggest masterpiece films of today. But CTRL is not that.

Ctrl

dark side of social media

CTRL raises the question in a new world that when data has become the biggest power, how much of our personal information should we share online and if it goes out of control, what could be the consequences? Vikramaditya told that the film talks about the dark side of social media and how it creates dopamine hits (which come from likes and favourites).

Doomsday Situation Scene

Vikramaditya sees the plot of CTRL as a doomsday situation, which reflects the madness of today's social media. He says, I think that in the next 15-20 years we will look at social media the same way we look at smoking today. Some things are good in social media, but it is harming especially teenagers, young minds and even adults.

When and where can you watch CTRL?

You can watch CTRL on Netflix from October 4. Apart from Ananya Pandey, many actors like Vihaan Samat, Devika Vatsa, Kamakshi Bhatt, Suchita Trivedi, Sameet Gambhir, Ravish Desai and Aparshakti Khurana will also be seen in it.
