According to Dr. Vimal Chhajed, “Regular aerobic exercise strengthens the heart and promotes blood circulation. If you are just starting to improve your cardiovascular health and energy efficiency, running, cycling, swimming or brisk walking can prove to be some simple and effective options. “Try to get at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity exercise every week.”

“Eat a diet rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean meats and heart-healthy fats (such as those found in nuts and olives). “They help in reducing blood pressure and cholesterol, which is very important for heart health.”

1. Walking

Walking can prove to be a very effective exercise. It is suitable for all fitness levels. You can try it indoors, outdoors, in an open environment or on a treadmill. Walking daily improves your heart health and also increases your heart strength and stamina.

2. Jogging and running

Swimming involves many muscle groups in your body, plus it doesn't put too much stress on your joints. According to experts, regular swimming improves heart health and reduces the risk of heart related problems to a great extent.

4. Jumping rope

Jumping rope increases the heart rate suddenly, which promotes cardiovascular health and stamina. Just 10 minutes of jumping rope can give you the same benefits as running for 30 minutes.

5. Dancing

Dancing for some time every day not only improves your heart health but also your mental health. Dancing helps in releasing happy hormones in the body, which relieves stress.
