do patti movie review: Actress Kriti Sanon's name has been added to the long list of actress-turned-producer with the film Do Patti released on the OTT platform. Kriti Sanon had admitted in an interview with Prabhat Khabar that after Mimi, she was not being offered any interesting role, due to which she decided to make a film for herself. She met writer Kanika Dhillon and asked her to write something special, after which the story of the film Do Patti came to her, but while watching the film, you do not find anything special in its story, rather you consider it the weakest aspect of the film. can give. This story of two sisters' turmoil suddenly turns into a serious topic of domestic violence. Seeing this, you feel that you have started watching some other movie in between. The two stories are not woven together properly. Along with the fragmentation of the story, there is also no depth in the characters, due to which the film has become cumbersome.
Both entertainment and message are weak in the story.
Talking about the story, this story has been set in a beautiful hill station Devipur. At the very beginning of the story, Saumya (Kriti) accuses her husband Dhruv Sood (Shaheer Sheikh) of conspiring to murder her. Police officer Vidya Jyoti (Kajol) has an eye on this case and the story moves forward three months. In which it is revealed that Soumya also has a twin sister Shaili. Their story begins. Shaili feels that she was sent to boarding school in her childhood because of Soumya. Due to which she is extremely jealous and jealous of Saumya. The twist in the story comes when Saumya falls in love with businessman Dhruv, but Shaili cannot tolerate her sister Saumya's happiness. She starts attracting Dhruv towards herself. Dhruv also gets attracted to Shaili, but he marries the homely type Soumya. After that a bigger storm takes place in Soumya's life. Not only Shaili, Dhruv has also become the enemy of her happiness, he beats her badly. Because of Soumya's caretaker Amma (Tanvi Azmi), police officer Vidya Jyoti comes to know about the domestic violence, but initially Soumya refuses to take the help of the police, then what happens that after three months Soumya finds herself She even accuses her husband of conspiring to murder her. This has been said in the past and present in the story of the film.
Advantages and disadvantages of the film
The weakest aspect of the film is its story and screenplay. The treatment of two twin sisters in the film has been done in a very stereotypical manner. One sister is timid, while the other sister is of rebellious nature. The treatment of Sita and Geeta has also been given in this present day story of twin sisters. The film is not able to answer the question that when the two sisters do not even like to see each other. In such a situation, how has Shaili suddenly become ready to do anything to help her sister Saumya? Such a change of heart just from one scene. Why did the relationship between the two sisters become so bad in their childhood? This thing has also not been added properly in the screenplay. Looking at the film, it seems that some scenes have been added just to show the complexity in the relationship between the two sisters. The film is a thriller, but the story has not been able to maintain the suspense. In the film, Shaheer has been described as a spoiled son of a rich father. In one scene, the father even talks about buying the judge, but the kind of lawyer hired to save his son and the arguments he gives make one laugh. It is not that everything is bad in the film. The film brings forward the issue of domestic violence. Domestic violence is a serious issue. Generally, women consider it to be a domestic matter and want to keep it within the walls, but they forget that their domestic matters break their homes the most, especially their children. Along with bringing this to the fore, the film also advocates that those who commit domestic violence are also guilty along with those who silently watch all this happening. This message related to the film is good, But the weak story has not done justice to it. The cinematography of the film is one of its good aspects. The songs are in tune with the musical story.
Even the characters have remained raw.
Talking about acting, Kriti Sanon has done justice to both the roles. This role could have been memorable for Kriti after Mimi, but there was no depth in her characters, due to which despite having a double role, nothing memorable happened for Kriti on screen. Kajol's acting is good, but her accent is strange. Shaheer Sheikh's effort is also good. There was nothing special for Vivek Mushran and Tanvi Azmi to do in the film.
